Jean's passion for Scottish Country dancing stems from her early childhood. She and her siblings are the first generation in her family born in the United States. As a Stewart, she was raised to be proud of her heritage and the traditions that celebrate Scottish ancestry.

As a little girl she would practice Highland dance in her living room to the records of Bagpipes and music of the Highlands. She has dabbled in ballet, line dancing, jazzercise, and traveled nationally as an ice skater. Music and movement are in her blood!

Living in San Diego, she discovered a Scottish Country Dance class while attending the Highland Games. She immediately signed up! She loves the joy it brings to her and all the wonderful life friendships that have come from it. She attends weekend dancing workshops, participates in Demonstrations at Highland Games and other various events. She has traveled to weeklong summer dance camps and attended Summer School for Scottish Country Dancers at St Andrews in Scotland! She can't wait to share her joy of the Scottish Country Dance with you!
